Sleepy Hollow Halloween

When I saw the Cinema Saturday challenge was Sleepy Hollow, I was stumped. I had no idea what to do, especially since I had to include a tree in my creation. Then I took a stroll through my digital archives and found this cute tree. I am sorry but I don’t know where it came from, but it is perfect for this card. Here is the final product.

I colored it in with colored pencils and then blended with Gamsol. All the papers is from the Fall Stack by DCWV from at least 3 years ago. The shiny strips that criss cross in the middle of the card is actually skateboarding grip tape. It is adhesive, so it is great to use, plus I love the bit of sparkle it adds. Finally I used another one of those fabric flowers by Making Memories.

Lounging Santa

I am trying to get a jump start on Christmas cards. I know it is 3 and a half month away, but then again, it is only 3 and a half months away!

I got this cute Santa image from Doodle Dragon Studios. I just couldn’t resist coloring it up! I do want to point out the his inner tube is green even though it looks a bit gray here.

I made this for a few challenges:

You wind me up!

Here is card number two! This was the original card. I think the silver embossing turned out really cute. I like the blue from previous card, but those white flecks pissed me off a bit! I used the same Kaiser Craft paper and Making Memories orange embossing powder. I don’t remember the brand of the silver, but it whatever it is, it covers beautifully!

Blast Off!

I love this little guy! I love him so much that I made two cards with him. The other card will post very soon. I couldn’t decide what color to emboss him, so he got two treatments and two cards! For this one I embossed him with bluish embossing powder. I don’t remember the company but I think it was Making Memories. This color for some reason has white flecks in it, so the color variation you are seeing isn’t unembossed areas, it is white embossing. It is the strangest thing, but it works. I used some Kaiser Craft paper I have. Both of the patterns are from the same sheet. I finished the card off with an orange embossed sentiment from the same Reflections set. The orange is the same kind of embossing powder as the blue, minus white specks!

Queen of Everything

Every since The Burtonesque Dolls gave the challenge of Vintage style, I immediately knew what image I would use. I have a TAC image of a queen. This was one of the first stamp sets I ever got. Then, at Oh, Alice!, they have challenge people to use white…all white, except for the main image. Put the 2 together, and I you have my version of the White Queen…

I know it was supposed to be all white, but I had to put a little homage to the Red Queen, but white overwhelms the one red rose. It is still very present though! I embossed the background white paper with a Cuttlebug folder. I don’t know which one because it is a friends, but I liked the flowers and swirls. I decided to flip it though, and have what is normally raised go in. I thought it worked better. I actually did two versions of the queen. The first I shaded with black. I liked it, but it was actually in the cutting that caused issues. With the one that I actually put on the card, I just outlined it in a gray Tombow. I think that made the white REALLY stand out, and since she is the White Queen, I wanted it to be stark white.

I finished the card off with a sentiment from the stamp set, and some organza white ribbon.

Cheers!

Today I made an early “Christmas” card, but it could really be used at anytime for drinks. I used the OWH sketch for this week and an old set I had from The Angel Company. All of the patterned paper is from DCWV. I did add a few Dew Drops for texture and I used the Deckled Rectangle Spellbinder instead of use a normal rectangle to add a little pop!

Happily Ever After

I was going through my Google Reader and saw the Clean and Simple sketch for this week. I really liked it and thought it would be great for a simple wedding card. I used some S.E.I paper that has a subtle circle embossed. I thought it worked perfectly and added to the card instead of distract from the true message. I used the last of my Making Memories flowers but instead of using the diamond brad, I used a decorative Making Memory brad. I finished the card off with a G Studio sentiment, raised with pop dots.

Bunnies like cake too!

When I saw the new The Cat’s Pajamas release, I knew I had to have at least one of the sets. And then when Alma offered free shipping the night of the release, well, I was sold. I decided to be good and only bought one set and it had to be THIS ONE!

I even decorated the inside too…

Isn’t that bunny cute!? He is so fun to color too! I have colored several and plan on getting them onto cards soon. Hope you don’t get too sick of him/her. I used some Basic Grey paper and I like the colors because it can be used for either a guy or a girl. Yes, I know there are flowers on there, but it just goes and it isn’t overly girly.

SISC #19 – Sketch challenge

It’s THURSDAY! I love Thursdays because the Groovy Gurls have something special and new for you with Stamp Insanity!

Today we have a sketch challenge for you…

Here is what I made for you…

I started by using Izzy from What the Heart Wants. I wanted to use that specific sentiment and it just all came together. The pattern paper is all Cosmo Cricket’s Joy Ride. I luckily found some ribbon that matched the color scheme, and it all just kind of came together.

I have to say that I am loving my Prisma colored pencils and gamsol. It is so fun to play with and the results, if I don’t say so myself, are wonderful.

SISC #18 Bling and Ribbon

It’s Thursday! You know what that means! Another Stamp Insanity challenge! The Groovy Gurls are challenging everyone to break out the ribbon and bling this week. Here is my creation!

I used Maddie this week. She fit perfectly in my labels 4 Spellbinder die. I love navy blue and gray as a combo. I find them very elegant. I had the gray sitting out to be for another set of cards, but those weren’t coming together, so fate stepped in and I saw it right when I needed it. I added some much neglected Martha Stewart loose glitter. I used my Terrificly Tacky tape and did three lines of the tape. Then one by one I took the red cover off and used Crystal Fine, Sterling and then Hematite. I hope the cord counts as ribbon because it just went beautifully. I attached a vellum tag I had that I covered in Sapphire Glimmer mist. I did stamp the sentiment, also from the same set with Maddie, first and set with my heat gun. Then I added some more jewels and a Making Memories flower.
