Ball and chain

I am going to a bachlorette party tomorrow and wanted to make a card for the bride. I followed the Sketch Saturday sketch for this week.

I used Stagettabella and Here’s to You! both from Stamping Bella. The colors follow the wedding colors.

Bellariffic Friday and 2S4Y

It’s Bellariffic Friday and the theme this week is birthday! I had several images to choose from, but I like daydreamabella! This Bo Bunny paper has been sitting in my scrap pile forever, so I thought it would be a nice background.  I also followed 2 Sketches for You from this week. Enjoy! Erica

Sweetheart love!

Tonya over at Stamp Happens has issued a challenge! This is the first sketch challenge, which you know are my faves! Up for grabs is Stamp Insanity by Beth’s cute Zeke and Maddie set! I had wanted to play along earlier, but I don’t know if it would have turned out the way I wanted. Here is the card that came together just right!

I used The Greeting Farm digi! I had to make the boy a red-head…I am a bit partial to red-headed men! The colors all come from the patterned paper from Die Cuts with a View. I didn’t want to have a pink nightmare, so I pulled some orange and yellow from the little hearts on the paper. I also added the rik rak on top of the other ribbon.

Now I am off to watch the end of Project Runway and eating my Peanut M&Ms.

MTSC58- Thinking of You

Here is a card I whipped up using Mercy’s sketch this week! I haven’t gotten to play along with these before, but have really wanted to. This card is for Wade’s grandma. I used a Unity Stamp and colored it with color pencils. Then I cut the image out with my large deckled rectangle from Spellbinders.

Sorry for the quick post, but I wanted to post this before I head BACK to Topeka for a meeting. This is the second trip of the day. Luckily, Wade has agreed to keep me company on the trip. I only have to buy dinner!

TGF Relay day 3

Baby Toby is the cutest! I decided the feminize him for a baby girl card. I have been loving these images from The Greeting Farm. I know many of you have too because I tried to go to the website and the site has been suspended. Yes, there are so many people going to it that it has crashed…twice! Free stuff gets noticed…cute free stuff gets swamped!

The paper is My Mind’s Eye and I used colored pencils to color the image. I wanted a softer effect then what pens would do. Finally, I finished up the card with a sentiment from The Angel Company and a flower from Spare-parts.

TTCC #2: Thoughts of Bella

It is that time again, and we have a great color challenge for you at Twilight Tuesday. Here is what Ali says about the color choice:

Hello! Happy Tuesday! Alison here with our Second Twilight Tuesday Color Challenge! This week, my colors were inspired by Bella. I chose Garnet because originally, that was her favorite gemstone (before she went & changed it to Topaz for Edward’s eyes!). Next, I picked Phoenix Sky Blue because Bella frequently mentions how she misses the colors of her hometown. Lastly, I decided that we need to throw a neutral into the mix, so I picked Forks’ Sky. It’s a grayish green. Don’t get too thrown by the shade I chose… if you just use a regular gray, that’s fine! But if you wanna try to really wow us… go for this a little more interesting, if not a wee bit dreary color! Can’t wait to see your creations!!!

This was really difficult for me, but here is what I came up with.

I used the Bella image from The Greeting Farm. I love her! I have never done a red coat, but I really like how it turned out.

Make sure to check out the fabulous design team’s creations!

TGF Relay Day #2- Charlotte

Here is my entry for Day 2 of The Greeting Farm’s digi relay. Isn’t Charlotte the cutest? I colored 3 of them before deciding this is the one I wanted to use on the card. The patterned paper is Basic Grey Offbeat. The sentiment is brand new from Studio G and I filled in the stars with orange Stickles. I love this set because it has the words Guitar, Super, Hero, Star, Band, and Rock. I am definitely making a card that says Guitar Hero for Wade one day!

Have a great day! Enjoy! ~Erica

Happy birthday Wade!

Today is Wade’s birthday. This is actually a scheduled post, because as you read this, we are off to have sushi with a group of friends! I couldn’t post his card early since he actually checks out the blog occasionally and knowing my luck he would see it before he got it! I used the sketch from this week’s Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Inside:

Yes, this is the card I made for my boyfriend who is turning 36. He is a huge Star Wars fan, so when I saw these rub-ons by Creative Imaginations, I knew I had to use them for his card. I have a ton left over, but his best friend is also a nerd, so now I have something for his birthday card down the road!

Oh, and the Star Wars stuff doesn’t stop there. Look at one of the gifts I got him!

He already has Luke and Han Solo in Storm Trooper gear. Can I tell you how excited I am that I knew what they were wearing! Well, they sit on his computer desk and guard him while working. He showed them to me but the had the helmets on so I said what I thought was an obvious questions, “Are they the same?” and his response was, “Are they the SAME?! No!” and then plucked their helmets off. Then he turned to the little guys and said, “Are you the same! HA!” Well, since he talks to them, I thought he needed a little female representation there! Plus how cute is mini Darth Vader. (I have IMDB up so I don’t spell any of the names incorrectly because he will never let me live that down!)

I also baked him a cake. I don’t bake, but I thought I would surprise him. I bought a cake mix and the frosting and my friend Amy supervised and let me break in her new stand mixer. This is her gift to Wade…an edible birthday cake! She also got him two candles to place on the cake and some dark chocolate. I already called the restaurant, so we will be able to bring the cake in so everyone can enjoy German Chocolate cake! She is bringing it, so he has no idea what I have been up to today. I forgot to take a picture of it, but I will try to take a picture before we devour it.

Have a great day! I will try to post stuff more often but school just started and it is going to be a bit hectic for awhile! Thanks for being patient with me! Enjoy! Erica

TGF Relay- Mer Ian

The Greeting Farm is doing a relay this week during CHA. This is the first image. Isn’t he adorable. I was able to mask him and sponge the background using Whispers ink and a sponge. This is the first time I have done this and I LOVE the way it turned out! I finished the card off with American Crafts ribbon, Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper and Me & My Big Idea paper.

I do have to admit that I messed up on coloring the skin, but it was a happy mistake. I originally used just E00, but then when I masked the image the tape pulled at the paper. To fix it, I colored it again, but then it looked odd, so I made the cheeks rosey with YR00, which looked REALLY bad. The only thing I could do was go over all the skin with YR00 and I love how it turned out. It kind of gave him a sun kissed look. I love happy accidents!

Hope you enjoy! Erica

Card Supplies:

  • Stamp: Mer Ian digi by The Greeting Farm
  • Ink: Copics YR00 and E00, Bics, Sakura,
  • Paper: Basic Grey, Me & My Big Ideas, DCWV, Bazzil
  • Accessories: American Craft ribbon, bubble stickers

Explain to me…

…why is it that I wanted to clean my closet during break and didn’t even touch it, but today, without a plan, is completely reorganizing my scraps?

I don’t get it. I planned on making a card. Actually I have, but you have to wait to see it until tomorrow. I know how this all started! I was trying to find the perfect paper for my sample for this Tuesday’s Color Challenge at Twilight Tuesday (it’s a good one!). Then I realized how disorganized my scraps are. I have them by color, but they just get thrown in. You wouldn’t believe how many sheets of the same color 12×12 cardstock I found partially used because I either didn’t look properly or couldn’t find it. I am throwing out a bunch of the teeny-tiny pieces and also making all of the pieces rectangular or square. I know, I know, I am wasting some paper, but it is easier! Hopefully I will finish and make a card before I leave for my date with tonight.

I promise, you will see a card tomorrow evening! School started this weekend and it is a bit hectic right now. My mojo also decided to take a vacation when school started and the serious, studious part moved in!

I am off to finish my project! Thanks for letting me vent!
