Off and away!
As you read this, I am getting ready to “leave on a jet plane.” My friend Reanna and I needed a vacation before the semester started, so we have packed our bags and are off to….Las Vegas! This is the third time that I have been there, but Reanna has never been there. I will be back with a new project on Tuesday for Twilight Tuesday…so keep watching. Until then, have a fantastic weekend!
Special Twilight Tuesday Collaboration with Dragonflycurls!
Today we are so excited to tell you we are doing an EXTRA challenge today! Graciously sponsored by Audra at Dragonflycurls.
She makes some amazing handmade Twilight themed stamps. Make sure you go and check out her site!

And here is the special bonus challenge for you:
What team do you play for? Team Edward or Team Jacob? Are you still loyal to your original team? Or have you switched sides? Or do you play for both teams now? Let’s show some love for the boys ladies! Fangs or fur, vamp bites or dog breath? Have the trailers for New Moon maybe changed your opinion of who you used to like? Come on now…be honest!
I am all about Team Edward, but isn’t this wolf SOOO cool?! I think so. You can’t really tell from this picture, but the wolf is stamped in blue ink. I have had issues with the ink that I used spreading and running on the paper, but this stamp worked PERFECTLY with the ink. I didn’t have to prep it or anything, I could just use it straight out of the package. If you are interested in participating in this or any other Twilight Tuesday Challenges you can get the details over at the TTIC blog. TTIC #40 – Blue
Jen is the hostess for this week and she has a fabulous challenge today!
“That color blue looks lovely with your skin,” he said, watching me. I was surprised; I looked down, flushing, of course.
Challenge portion: Create anything you want focusing on the color blue. Twilight related? Well that’s up to you.
Comment portion: What’s your favorite color to wear and why?
It was nice to use a brighter color pallet for a Twilight challenge
I really loved this challenge. I have had this My Mind’s Eye pack for a while and was happy to pull it out and give it some love. I accented the blue with browns, based on the pp and also, I just think that brown and blue look great together.
I tend to wear a lot of green. I have been told it brings out my eyes. On Sundays in the fall you will find me in my red Jared Allen Chief’s jersey. Hopefully I will get his Viking’s jersey soon, so then it will be purple every Sunday.

Princess Birthday!
Madi turned 6 a couple of days ago! Madi is my “niece.” I am an only child so I rely on my friends to have children and give me nieces and nephews! Meredith, who I have known since I was 5 has two little one. Madi was her first and I can’t believe she is 6 already. Madi is a total princess, so it was only appropriate that I used the Princess Anya image that Jacquie sent me! I colored it in with Bics, but accented it with gel pens to give it a bit of sparkle. I also added a bit of bling with Stickles on the wand. The paper is DCWV. The sentiment is The Cat’s Pajamas. I love that simple birthday sentiment. The font is great.
Big news and Eddie!
As you all know, I am obsessed with Twilight. I love it. The books came into my life at the perfect time and have really been a blessing. A couple of months ago, I made a card for the VSN on SCS with a Twilight theme. Dani commented on the card and told me I needed to check out Twilight Tuesday. You all know I did, and now I have been presented with the most amazing opportunity, I have been asked to fill in as a Guest Designer while Margie sits out for a couple of weeks. I am stoked about the opportunity, but very sad that Margie is not going to be crafting for a couple of weeks. I will be working with the Twilight Tuesday through August, and hopefully Margie will come back quick so we get a couple of weeks on the team together.
I wanted my first project with this announcement to be Twilight of course. A couple of weeks ago, Twilight Tuesday announced a special challenge with The Greeting Farm. I didn’t have the stamp to play with, but Jacquie was nice enough to send it to me my very own Edward stamp. So, I finally got to play along.
Going along with the challenge, I used the traditional Twilight color scheme: red, black, white and/or silver. I bought some new paper from The Paper Studio for the coaster album I made, and most of the paper embraced the Twilight color scheme as well. I love the argile paper, so I used that as the background. I have been on a cutting out the image kick recently, so I cut out Edward and popped off the crown paper with foam squares. Finally, I used a sentiment from Artful Inkables Fictionally Inspired set and made it pop with silver embossing paper.
There is a comment portion for this challenge as well. What colors do you like to use for Twilight inspired projects. I think purple is a great Esme and Alice color. Blue is great for the Vampire boys and I like woodsy greens and browns for the wolf pack. I do tend to work a lot with the reds and blacks, but I love those colors together. I wear those colors a lot at work in the winter and those were my high school colors. As a cheerleader, I wore them A LOT, so even almost 10 years after that, I don’t think I ever grew out of that color pallet.
Card Supplies: Stamp: Greeting Farms Edward, Artful Inkables Ink: Bics, Memories Black ink, Crayola colored pencils Paper: the Paper Studio Accessories: ribbon unknown, jewels, unknown, embossing powder, Martha Stewart glitter
Coaster album
A couple of weeks ago I went to see No Doubt and Paramore. The day before I went, Jacquie went to the same concert. I posted photos of the concert and she made a comment that none of her photos came out. She was generous enough to send me Eddie, so as a thank you, I wanted to share some of my photos with her by making this little coaster album.
This is the Paramore side and front and back cover.
This is the No Doubt side. All of the paper is from a Boys Will Be Boys paper pack from Paper Studio. It came with stickers too, and it all fit really well with the feeling I wanted to portray. It made a safe trip to Minnesota. I have been blessed with the number of good friends I have made with this blog and Jacquie is no exception. Soon I will post my little Eddie and princess creations. Did you also see my new Twilight images under the Twilight addiction section. My friend Brooke
, sent me the codes for them. She is one of the creators of Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge and she quickly learned of my love for Twilight when I kept guessing Twilight as the movie every week. Finally she just made the movie Twilight so that I would stop. Now we are just waiting on Finding Nemo to be the movie. LOL!
Right now I am going to bed because I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow. I am still training my replacement and I got a second interview. For those of you that don’t know. I will be taking 16 hours next semester, so I needed something part-time, so I am leaving my job of 4 years to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. It has been a really sad and hard time, but I have been surrounded by the support of my friends and family to help me through it. Wish me luck for tomorrow. I need a job so that I can pay the bills, but more importantly, buy more stamps
New home…
…but not for me. Michaela and her fiance Jason are brand new home owners. Amy and I got a tour of the house the other day. It is beautiful. I am so happy for them. I made them this card to celebrate their new purchase. I used American craft double sided paper. I have matching ribbon, but decided not to use it. I have been making very simple cards recently. My mojo is very sleepy and not really pushing the creativity. The sentiment is from The Angel Company. I have had this set for several years, purchasing it off eBay, and I barely use it. This week I have used it twice already. Now I am wondering what other handy sets I am neglecting.
Mail call!!!
I got two packages in the mail today! First, I got my Bella ATC swaps. I had signed up at SCS. I’d never done an ATC before, but it was fun. Mine is the Parisbella in the top left corner. I had this one sent to my work, so I got it during the day.
The second package came to my house. It was from Jacquie! She offered to send me Eddie and some Anyas and they arrived today! I am so excited to play with them.
I am hoping to get to play tonight, but I am not feeling very good right now, so I am going to play it by ear. I promise, if I make anything, you all will see!
365 cards speaks my language!

I know, it must be thundering for them to play, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the sun wouldn’t be shining. I live in Kansas, it happens. I used Martha Stewart loose glitter for the sparkle. I had never used the glitter this way. I had been having issues figuring how how to make it stick, but it worked! And of course I had to use my Artful Inkable sets. Ever since I got them, they are really inspiring me to make more and more Twilight cards. I think my craft has really been getting better in the last month. I love what I am creating and having fun doing it.Hope you enjoy! ~ Erica
