Cravabella
Naunna is having a baby!!! I am so excited. She has the cutest little girl Izzy and I can’t wait for the next little one. I am so happy for her and Lewis. They are awesome parents. I had to make Naunna a card congratulating her, so her it is.
I pulled out my cravabella for her card. I colored it in with Tombos and Bics. I had to add some liquid applique to make the slippers fuzzy, because who doesn’t like fuzzy slippers? the Congratulations stamp is from Studio G.
The paper is DCWV and Me & My Big Ideas. The Me & My Big Ideas paper is new, but absolutely love the color pallette. I finished off the card with some pearls I picked up in a dollar section at my LSS.
Hope you enjoy! ~ Erica
Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #4
I finally got to participate in the Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge!!!! I have been wanting to participate for awhile, but just hadn’t had the chance. Here is the sketch. I have been staring at it for a couple weeks and during my commute yesterday I had an idea…
If you saw the card I made for the Twilight Cinema Challenge, you recognize the image. I originally planned on doing it on the red (seen here) but then tried it on the white and it worked so well for that card. I kept the red to the side and when I am so glad I did. I mounted it on white paper and then mounted that on black and white love paper. I finished the card off with some Making Memories flowers with Martha Stewart crystals in the center.
I took a bunch of cards to work today to have some of my friends help me decide on what to submit for the design team. This card didn’t make the cut, but I now have two girls that are wanting this card and the Cinema challenge card. I think I may need to invest in more of those American Craft rub-ons!
Hope you enjoy! ~ Erica
Penguin birthday!
My mom needed a birthday card for a co-worker and specifically asked for The Cat’s Pajama’s penguins. She loves these little guys. I had her pick out the “main” paper and she picked out the sparkly floral DCWV Citrus paper. The yellow paper is from that collection. I colored the penguins in with Tombos that matched the paper. I finished the card off with three Spare Parts brads. The circles were cut using Martha Stewart’s circle cutter…which is becoming a very handy tool for me…now that I understand how to use it.

TTIC #33- Favorite New Moon Quote
So today’s Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge is to be inspired from your favorite New Moon Quote. *WARNING: If you have not read New Moon and plan on reading it, there may be spoilers.* I was thinking about this all day but all of my favorite quotes are really sad. I started to think and on my drive home, I had a thought…and this is what I came up with.
I did a two part gift based on the quote(s):

The card had the first part of the quote on it. I used my Martha Stewart Valentine set to make my candy hearts and punched them out with her heart punch. Explain to me why though they don’t fit perfectly. I was hoping the punch would be just a little bigger, but whatever.
The second part of the quote is attached to a paper ribbon around a box of Sweethearts. These are the Twilight brand and it is really ironic that I used Edward, but I have two boxes of these things and they are both Edward. My dad bought me one and my friend Michaela bought the other as a thank you for letting her borrow all four books (even though I got them after just letting her borrow one. It was a hint).

For the comment portion we are to explain why the quote grabbed us. I like this part of the book because Jacob is really starting to show/hint to Bella that he likes her and she just doesn’t know what to do. I think also the candy hearts shows Jacob’s boyish charm. This is also one of the last “human” gestures that he makes toward Bella, if you know what I mean.
I also have to tell you another part/quote from New Moon I like, but couldn’t make a project because it would have had tear stains all over it. Probably one of the most powerful parts of the book for me was when Alice showed up. Bella is pretending to be asleep and Alice is talking with Charlie. “How bad was it , Charlie?”(Alice)….. “I finally figured it out – she was avoiding everything that might remind her of…him.” (Charlie) Pretty much pages 395 to 399. Even just writing it is making me tear up. I think it is the first time we really ever see the breakup from an outside perspective. I was heartbroken during the breakup, but seeing how it truly affected herk, what she wouldn’t even let her conscious (narration) discuss is devastating all over again.
The book is heartbreaking but ends good and is necessary for the rest of the series. I do have to say that I am so excited about New Moon. I think this movie could be better than the book. I just have to wait until November to see…oh but wait. The MTV Movie Awards this Sunday will be showing an exclusive clip!!!!!!! I can’t wait. I will be DVRing it but also intently watching!
Well now that I have had my cry for the night…I am off to bed.
Hope you enjoy! ~Erica
Uggg! My brain took a vacation and I don’t know when it will be back!
I don’t have a card to share with you right now. My desk is a little messy right now. I could clean it since I have a day off, but probably not. I went shopping this weekend and bought a new book, “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” I am really enjoying it and don’t really want to put it down. I might be going to the pool this afternoon, when I will read some more. I will try to get a card or two together soon. I am still trying to get my cards together for the Twilight Tuesday Design Team call. Don’t you hate when you have a vision in your head and can’t find the right thing to make it a reality? Well I will keep working and I will have something up soon!

Post number 100!!! I knew I talked a lot…
…or created a lot
For post number 100 I am going to show my creation for Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge.
As I was getting the picture I realized that they just posted the challenge and I was actually going from the Sneak Peaks revealed. The official challenge said that you must use flourishes in the card and all I have to say is…thank goodness I used the vellum I did.
I really like Ever After. I love the story and just think that Drew Barrymore did a great job in the role. I was 15 or 16 when the movie came out and didn’t know who Angelica Houston was, but still don’t like her because she played such a meanie! Also at 16 that was the perfect love story (I just had to wait 10 years to find Twilight).
The middle word is charm and it is hard to read in the photo, but easier in real life. I have to thank Brooke and Sankari because they gave me a reason to use some of my new buys. The words are Making Memeories Sabrina Rub-ons and the punch is EK Success. I just got them yesterday. I finished off the shoes with Crystal Stickles and added silver brads to attach the flourished vellum to the gray/silver paper.
Hope you enjoy! Erica

TTIC #32 The Great Northwest
This week’s Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge is the Great Northwest! At first I was stuck, but all of a sudden on Friday I had a vision…
I had forgotten about the leaf stamp I had. I have used the sillouet version of the stamp but not the outline, until now. I also got to pull out my EK Success Adornments that I don’t use enough.
Comment portion: If you could visit anywhere in the Northwest – where would it be and why? Here is the funny thing, I used to live in Bremerton, WA when I was 2 until almost 5. I don’t remember much but what I do remember is that the apartment complex we lived in was in the “valley” of a hill and in order to get to the main road you had to drive up and hill. If you looked back toward the apartment complex you could see the mountains behind it. It was really beautiful. We used to take the fairy (not right spelling) into Seattle about once a month. I want to go back now that I am older and experience it. I also would like to go to Oregon. My friend used to live in Reedsport and said it was beautiful. Of course I would love to go to Forks. A friend of my moms went a couple of months ago and brought me back a Twilight shirt, a Forks sweatshirt and the bag where she got the sweatshirt, Forks Olympic Outfitters (close to what the Newton’s store was).
Stamps: Botanicals by Scrappy Cat
Ink: Stampabilities and Child Safe
Accessories: Adornments by EK Success
Paper: DCWV
Tools: Martha Stewart circle cutter
Crazy week!
Sorry I don’t have a card yet, but this week has been crazy! I will tell you all about it after I tell my awesome news!!!! Final grades were posted and I got straight A’s my first full-time school/full-time work semester! Plus this is even cooler because these are all my education classes, so the real heart of my degree. I have not gotten a B in any of my education classes…knock on wood!
Sorry if I seemed to be bragging, but I am just really happy and it just helps solidify that I am doing the right thing!
Here is the contents of my week thus far…
- Monday was my last volleyball game for my first season, but we start back in a couple of weeks for the summer session. We didn’t win a lot of games, but I met some awesome people and got a bit of a workout.
- Tuesday I took a French cooking class with my friend Michaela. She loves to cook and I can’t, but this class was awesome. It was just a demo class and eatting, so at least I wasn’t around fire or sharp objects. I have learned that I love salmon and it really isn’t that hard to make. We also had a cheese and asparagus tart, chicken provlenca, potatoe, cheese and bacon on mixed greens, and finally a lemon cake with berries. I had so much fun hanging out with Michaela, like always. We are thinking about taking a seasonal pasta class next!
- Wednesday is trivia night. We were in first place going into the final question because two of my teammates knew Jean Luke Picard’s Borg name. We didn’t win, but we had fun and drank beer.
- Thurday (today) I had a meeting for Relay for Life. I am so pumped now. We are going to put together a silent auction basket to try to raise more money on the night of the auction. I feel more energized and can’t wait to tell my team all that I learned. I also got this awesome street sign that is going to be outside my office to remind people to help out!
Tomorrow is going to be busy at work. This weekend I might get some rest. I am helping a friend look for her wedding dress, a couple of us might hit the lake and I have an over the phone coffee date with my old roomie to discuss the Twilight Saga because she just finished it!
I should have a new card soon. I was working on a couple, but I just haven’t had time to finish it yet. I think I am going to go to bed now but I wanted to leave you with my new favorite song. I keep hearing it in the mornings when I turn on music videos while I get ready for work. It is just a pretty song.
