Happy Easter

Yet another card using my new TAC stamps. They had a big sale a couple of weeks ago and I finally had time to play with them. This is from the I love Easter set. I colored the bunny in with my EK Success colored pencils and filled the tail with Liquid Applique. The paper is old scraps but I believe the pp is DCWV. The flowers are Making Memories and the brad is Basic Grey. It is hard to read, but on the pp I put the sentiment “I love Easter” in purple. On the inside it says “almost as much as I love you!” and then Happy Easter. The Happy Easter stamp is from Trendy Greetings, also a TAC set…a new one. I love how the card came out. Hope you enjoy! Sweet Baby

Another VSN card. I really enjoy this one. I just got this TAC stamp. Can you tell that i just got a new TAC order this week? LOL. The challenge was called “New Love” and you were to use new products or abandoned products. I had to play with this adorable giraffe. I colored it in with my Bics and I really love how bright it is.

butterfly

I made this card for VSN too. This was for “One True Love” a monochromatic card. I had never made one. The TAC butterfly shows up better in person. I used Brillance Moonlight White and then covered it with sparkly embossing powder. The pp is Basic Grey. The fiber is Adornments by EK Success.

Virtual Stamp Night

So I finally got a chance to stamp last night. I have been really busy with school. I wanted to particpate in the Virtual Stamp Night on SCS. Ofcourse the challenges are all about love, which isn’t my favorite subject, but it was really fun. It isn’t all about romantic love. The first challenge was to use a sketch and create something aobut something you love. Here is what I came up with.

I love Twilight, so I made a Twilight card. I know…I am a big dork! My favorite part is the chess piece that I stamped on pp, which I had never done before. The chess piece is a Hampton Stamp I got in a lot I bought off eBay. I stamped it in Brillance Moonlight White ink and then covered it with clear embossing powder. It looks so cool in person. The apple and hearts were cut out using my Cricut. Now that I look at it again, I really like it. I might use it as an invitation to watch the movie or a thank you to many of my fellow Twilight addicts. Hope you enjoy. I am going to put up some more new cards over the next few days so that I am not abandoning my blog. Hope you enjoy. Erica

OCC challenge

As I had written earlier, I bought some new stuff yesterday. When I saw the Our Creative Corner challenge for this week, I thought it was the perfect opportunity for me to use what I had bought. The challenge is to center your card around your favorite embellishment. The felt boarder/ribbon isn’t my favorite embellishment, but I wanted to try it, so I centered the design around it. Since there are ladybugs on the ribbon, I used my Wittle Bug stamp set from The Angle company. The circles are made using CM circle maker. I colored in the bugs with my Bics. I finished the wings of the butterfly off with crystal Stickles. Hope you enjoy! ~ Erica

Really?! clip from last night’s SNL

I just thought this was great and shows that some of the writing on SNL is still fantastic.

CPS102

I am cooking when it comes to these challenges. It has been so nice to have a weekend where I am so tired that I am just laying around. I am tired, don’t get me wrong, especially since my dog decided that it was time to wake up about two hours before my body would have said it was time to wake up. Anyways, I am so happy to be back at my desk creating, even it I am being inspired by others’ sketches and challenges. Today I decided to start with Card Positioning System’s sketch of the week.
The stamp is from Martha Stewart. I also disliked Martha Stewart. Probably because she makes 99.9% of the people who try to create or host look bad. She is too perfect, but she has been to jail and I haven’t, so at least I have one thing on her. Now that she has her stamp line and crafts, I love them. I have her glitter, several stamp sets, some embellishments. I just love her clean, simple, and elegant designs. I had gotten this stamp set months ago, had to get it right then and there, but hadn’t figured out a way to use it until today. I stamped it with my Memories black ink.
I cut the boarder of the black paper with my Kodak corner maker. I have had this corner maker for years. I think it was the first one I ever got and it was when I wanted the cheapest tools I could find. I have now found out that cheap usually ends up costing you more because you end up having to buy the more expensive product becasue the cheap one isn’t as good. I learned that with my VersaMark pad as well. Luckily, I bought my VersaMark pad at a garage sale for 50 cents and it had been used once.
Finally, I used Making Memories black ribbon and a Making Memories red button. I like how it turned out and it was so easy to make. I am learning how to make very versatile cards that could be used for many occassions.
Hope you enjoy! ~ Erica

Flower power My Times sketch

I have never gotten to play the My Times sketch, but I finally got to today. I have been wanting to use this Wildflowers Imaginisce stamp since I got in a couple of weeks ago. I thought the stamp was perfect with the sketch and with the Recollection acrylic flowers I purchased today while I was out.
Yes, I bought more crap! Not crap, but I have tons of stuff and I really should save some money up. I have more stamps coming that I ordered two weeks ago from TAC. More stamps!? Then I go off and purchase two sets of stamps, Martha Stewart hearts and Hannah Montana stamps, the acrylic shapes, decorative boarder and two dollar stamps. Atleast I am using some of the new stuff. Oh, I should explain the Hannah Montana stamps. I have to say, they are really cute. There is a great silhouette rose, butterfly, guitar, leaf, and star stamps. Plus there are decorative guitar and butterfly stamps. If I meet someone named Hannah I already have a personalized stamp for them. They are really cute and think that there is a lot of stuff I could use it for.
Anyways, I really like the simplicity of the card and it was really quick. I also used my Bics again, surprise, surprise. Hope you enjoy! ~ Erica

Amy’s sketch and more new paper

If you haven’t been able to tell yet, I love Amy’s Sketches. If you haven’t played along, you have to try. This week’s sketch is amazing, as usual. I also took inspiration from her Wedding Day Bella post on how to color in and glitter my sposabella stamp. The white paper is DCWV, the pp is Basic Grey Urban Prairie. The hearts are from my new Martha Stewart stamps. I stamped on pink paper with Versa Mark and then used glitter embossing powder to make it shiny. Then I cut it out around the stamped area. I used Crystal Stickles to outline the wedding dress. I cut a lot of paper preparing for this and couldn’t find the right paper. Now I have a lot of scraps of very pretty paper. Guess I am going to have to make some more cards. Darn! I do have to do homework tomorrow, but now that I bought new stamps and love my pretty paper, I might have to take frequent homework breaks. I will be pretty busy next week, but I will try to keep updating the blog and playing along with more challenges. Hope you enjoy! ~ Erica

What a fox!

Isn’t this little guy just the cutest? This is just a quick post before I go see “He’s Just not that Into you. I made this card for Jen’s Sketch for You (Me) to Try. Foxy is from the Twitterpatted Collection by Imaginisce. I love this stamp and only $1 at my LSS. I colored him in with my Bics and there is Fruit Punch Stickles in the hearts of ears (well not in this picture, but in the actual version there are stickles). The card is made from DCWV and the dp is Basic Grey Sultry paper. The flowers are from Spare Parts by Paper Studio. I never make square cards, but I am really happy with how this one turned out. Maybe I will make more. Well, I better go. I was watching Finding Nemo and waiting for my favorite part to play before I left. I got to see Dorie and Marlin speak whale, so now I must go see Amy’s new dog and go to the movie. Have a great day. Hope you enjoy ~ Erica
