No Place Like Home
I decided to make a card tonight. I wanted to relax and Wade was monopolizing the tv for the first quarter of the Chiefs game, so I created. Here is what I made.
I need some fall cards, and just love this little guy. He is from The Angel Company a couple seasons ago. I randomly found this stamp that I have had for ages and it just works so well, especially since I am from Kansas and whenever I see a scarecrow I think Wizard of Oz. All my paper is DCWV, including the leave DP that I have had forever! A bunch of challenges helped me put this card together.
- Sketch Saturday- Sketch
- Our Creative Corner- color challenge
- Corrosive Challenge- For the Boys
- 52 Card Pickup- No Fear (this guy reminds me of the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz and when you have a heart you can face anything. Also, I have no fear at home)
- Papertake Weekly Challenge- Just the One (one DP or one ribbon, you choose!)
- A Crafty Little Place- Anything goes
- The Wild Flower Patch- Fall Colors

A Groovilicious Birthday!
Can you believe Stamp Insanity is a year old!!! In celebration, we are having a BIRTHDAY theme and new images are being released too!
Here is the birthday girl!
Isn’t she so cute! I wanted to find really fun and festive paper for the occasion. When I saw this circle paper in my my scrap bin, I knew it would be perfect. All the fun colors in it led to the pretty color of Maddie’s dress! I also used Jen’s SFYTT this week.
There are some big announcements too! Sadly, Stamp Happens, the place to buy Stamp Insanity stamps will be going out of business soon. Because of this, there needed to be a new home. Beth has been working really hard, but now you can purchase the digis and images straight off the Stamp Insanity website. Great huh?!
What if she made the deal sweeter?
In honor of our birthday week, Beth is giving 50% off, yes I said 50% off, all purchases from September 2 (today) through September 9. Shipping is $6.95 for all orders under $50 and free for orders over $50. All you have to do is type in the code BDAY2010 during checkout.
You have got to see what the other Groovy Gurls have put together this week!

A Mojo Christmas
I made a card today! and I am really happy with it. I saw the MOJO Monday sketch and knew I wanted to play along with it. I also had this ribbon that I hadn’t used much, so I decided to make that the color inspiration. I finished off the card with a little sparkle with some Stickles.
Here is a close up of that…
Here are the other challenges that this card was made for:
- Mojo Monday- Sketch
- A Spoon Full of Sugar- Choice is yours
- Papertake Weekly- Recipe (3-2-1) 3 Dew Drops, 2 stamps, 1 ribbon
- Christmas Card Challenges: Sparkle and Shine

Happy Holidays Drummer Boy
I love this little drummer boy from Stampendous. I started this card a while ago, but I finally finished it tonight. When I say finish, I mean that I taped everything down. That’s it! Since I have started student teaching, my crafting has gone to the side. My brain is just really mushy right now. I did want to stop in and say hi. I showed some other cards I finally took pictures of in the last post a couple minutes ago. I am hoping to have a little more consistancy, but give me some time and it should get better.
Enjoy! Erica
Funky Christmas tree
I started this card Saturday but I put it to the side because I thought it needed something else. I looked at it today and I just couldn’t figure out what I wanted, so I figure it is fine the way it is. I started with this funky Christmas paper from The Paper Studio. I also picked up the stamps with the paper. I loved the simplicity of the stamps, but I wanted to add a bit of sparkle with Stickles.

SISC #23- Button It Up, Buttercup
Oh my goodness, I can’t believe it is Thursday already. Sorry I haven’t posted since a week ago, but life has been a bit crazy. I have been in the classroom for a week now and loving every minute of it. But it really is wearing me out!
I did get a card made for this week’s Stamp Insanity Challenge, Button Up Buttercup. Pretty simple, use buttons and a butter-y color. Here is what I did.
When I saw this challenge, I immediately knew what yellow paper I wanted to use. I figured Zeke would be great for this card. After that, it all came together. The pattern paper is Reflections and the cardstock is DCWV. I finished off the card with a button from Bo Bunny.

SISC #22~ I’m so Distressed
Sorry for the late post guys, but this week has been a little hectic. I started my student teaching assignment this week and the kids came yesterday. It has been so fun! I know most of their names and I even got to read a book I had picked out aloud to the class!
This week at Stamp Insanity, we have a combo challenge. Use the sketch provided, but distress it a bit!
Here is the sketch…
I have to admit that in the chaos that is this week, I didn’t realize their was a sketch and just used the distressing techniques on my card BUT when you look at my card, Beth and I must have telepathy, because my card follows the sketch pretty well!
I used Henry from the Sunscreen set. I tore part of the matting around him. I also tore out the sentiment, from the same set, and inked it up with a red ink pad. To add a little flair, I used some orange ribbon I had laying around. The background paper is Bo Bunny and the cardstock is DCWV.

All Your Fault
I got to play a little more with my new Artful Inkables sets. This one is called Fun & Friendly and I bought the set for this particular stamp. I knew it had to be the first one I inked up!
I just love it. It makes me think of Amy and I’s relationship. I used the Mojo Monday sketch from this week but flipped it on its side.
I took this photo outside because I just couldn’t get the right colors inside. Even this one isn’t perfect, but much better than the others.
Enjoy! Erica
You wind me up!
Here is card number two! This was the original card. I think the silver embossing turned out really cute. I like the blue from previous card, but those white flecks pissed me off a bit! I used the same Kaiser Craft paper and Making Memories orange embossing powder. I don’t remember the brand of the silver, but it whatever it is, it covers beautifully!
Here are the challenges this card was made for:
- 2S4y: Sketch
- Cards for Men: Off on an adventure
- Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: Out of this World
- Saturday Challenge #95: It’s a Man’s World
Enjoy! Erica
Blast Off!
I love this little guy! I love him so much that I made two cards with him. The other card will post very soon. I couldn’t decide what color to emboss him, so he got two treatments and two cards! For this one I embossed him with bluish embossing powder. I don’t remember the company but I think it was Making Memories. This color for some reason has white flecks in it, so the color variation you are seeing isn’t unembossed areas, it is white embossing. It is the strangest thing, but it works. I used some Kaiser Craft paper I have. Both of the patterns are from the same sheet. I finished the card off with an orange embossed sentiment from the same Reflections set. The orange is the same kind of embossing powder as the blue, minus white specks!
Here are the challenges this card was made for:
- IC Sketches #77: Sketch
- Flourishes: No embellishments
Enjoy! Erica
